    Hi Guys,

I have finally seen the light and moved over to FCP. Yes I am still saying I wish it id it like Premiere but I realise I need to grow up and get a pair so I dove into Mac..

    Anyway, enough waffling.

I used the Rate Stretch Tool a lot in premiere but can find no equivalent in FCP. I usually take a cut and stretch it to fill a gap or a marker in the music on a sequence. The only workaround I can find is to vary the speed but that is less than accurate and quite time consuming..

    Has anyone got any ideas??

    Many thanks.. Jon Edwards

Put your clip into the Viewer. Mark the In / Out for that clip.

In the Sequence, Mark the In / Out of the area you want the clip to fill.

Edit the clip into the Sequence using “Fit to Fill”

I am slowly getting to grips with it, but still feel I am onlyscatching the surface..
