Adobe Premiere CS4 hangs up when i try opening/ importing Premiere CS3 project. Help plz!
Okay, so I recently upgraded from Adobe CS3 to CS4. I try to open a Premiere CS3 project in CS4 and it prompts me to convert it to a cs4 project file and save it under a new name. So i do that, and i can see all the videos, sequences, etc., but than it tries saving it on its own ad it freezes up.
Than i figure i might as well create a new Premiere cs4 project and import the cs3 project, but than it does the same thing; opens everything to where i can see it and it tries saving it on its own again and freezes with the message of the program not responding.Can anybody please help me with this.I’m on a tight deadline and doubt that i’ll be able to make that deadline with out some help.

Before anything else: Right click on the Premiere icon and “Run as Administrator”. Get the latest updates.
Other ideas: You could try renaming the folder, deleting media cache folders, or try to open something from the auto-save folder.
Also, check if After Effects can open it, that often works, but it’s a lot more work afterwards.

now after it loads the project, this message pops up:::

Ouch… Do you have any third party plugin installed?
First try this. Go to your control panel > Folder options and set the option to show hidden files and folders.
then navigate to C:\Users\{your userame}\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\4.0
Then look for Importer Process Plugin Loading.log
That should tell you where things went wrong.

Was CS4 installed on the administrator account?
I wonder if something went wiggy on install?
