Adobe Premiere audio cuts out
hey folks,
i’ve recently installed a trial version of adobe 5.5 on a most recent gen mac pro – 2.93 ghz 6 core intel xeon. it’s currently running 16 gigs of RAM but we’re upgrading it to 24gb right now. we’re running picture and audio through an AJA kona lhi. the issue im running into is that the audio keeps cutting out, sometimes as soon as i press play and other times part way through a sequence. if i select another sequence and press play the audio comes back and then usually the audio in the first sequence will play again, if only for a minute or so before cutting out. i’ve tried switching between almost every option for audio hardware, finding that “built-in output” works most frequently; the other options have problems of their own (distorted audio, choppiness, etc.). has anyone had this experience before? thanks in advance for your help. -

My Adobe PP 5.5 just started doing that with the audio recently and its getting steadily worse. It used to be occasional and I could drag the cursor back and start over and it would play and I would only have to do that a few times a day. Now its every minute or so. Restarting the program makes no difference.
This is very frustrating indeed.

I’m on a brand new Mac Pro with CS6 and have the same issue all the time 🙁

This seems to happen when I have a lot of cuts and edits in my project: Premiere will play for 4-5 seconds and then audio will cut out. If I stop and then start playback it will play for another 2-3 seconds and cut out again; pretty much impossible to edit. When I was editing a 6-minute clip I had to double press my space bar like 20 times to continuously re-engage the audio.
Very disappointing why there is no response from adobe on this. I am also having the same problem on 2 of my other systems which tells me that this is a software wide program glitch.
I have unfortunately not found any viable reason and fix for this ridiculous problem. It is actually virtually impossible to watch through a full video without the audio stopping. This needs be be fixed!
