  Adobe Premier Pro CS5 bad lag

  Hi all,

  I am new to adobe Premier Pro. I am attempting to edit a video, but there is an unbearable lag on the video in the little preview window, which is making it very hard to edit. Additionally, when I hit play I have to wait for a minute for it to start and when I hit stop I have to wait a minute before I can do anything.

  I have read about backdating the video driver, but either I’m not doing it properly, or that isn’t the solution in my case. So far it has taken me all day to cut a few sections out of a 5 minute vid …. frustrating!!

  My PC is quite up-to-date:

  Windows 7 (64 bit)
  Quad core Intel i7 2.80Ghz
  8GB ram
  ATI Radeon HD 5400 series

  I am not sure if any other specs are relevant here, but if anyone has anything that may help, please do respond.
