Adobe Premier does not export sound on mpg file! What to do?
Hello!
I have the following problem:
I am using a Mac Book Pro (but also have Windows with Parellels). I have been trying to import mpg files recorded with my Sony Video Camera into Premiere Pro CS3 for editing. It imports the files without soundin both OS. I tried also Premier 2.0, still no success. I checked with Gspot and the ac3 sound codec is installed. VLC reproduces the videos with sound but Quick Time, no on the Mac OS. I tried converting the videos using ProCoder from mpg to avi format. Avi than plays with no sound. Strangely though Premier 2.0 imports the a sound wave, but nothing is heard. I have run out of idea of what can I do to be able to edit those mpgs with sound on Premier (any edition).

Install the ac3 filter codec (even though Gspot says its installed)
or copy ad2ac3dec.dll from Encore CS3 root and paste in root of Premiere CS3.

Your audio is separate from the video. Make sure you select both the audio and video file with importing.

mpg is usually video and audio in one file.
