    Hi everyone.
We make some 12 sec TV spots from customers that send us their print adverts as PDF docs. I pull them apart and animate them. My question is, what is the easiest software to seperate the elements from the PDFs? I use Illustrator at the moment, but sometimes it is very complicated with hundreds of layers to sort through, as theres sometimes lots of information in the ads that I dont need. Can anyone suggest an easier way?

    Thanks in advance
    Simon

I cant say I’ve done specifically what you’re doing so I’m not sure this will be much help, but typically when I work with PDFs in After Effects, I first bring them through Acrobat Pro and/or Photoshop to get rid of objects or whole pages I don’t need, optimize the file size, etc.
