This offer is in America only at the moment (or so it would seem). Does anyone know when it may be offered in the UK?

What people fail to realize is the while apple is a hardware company that make software to sell its hardware, adobe has always been a pixel oriented company from day 1.

Their whole goal is towarwds image, and pixel manipulation. So I ask who cares most about our jobs and interest, a hardware company that has some resourses invested in creative app or a company who’s sole intert is image manipulation.

I vote for adobe it can only get better.

I think that the wave of FCP professional users coming over to Premiere will bring a great infusion of welcome energy and positive change.

Don’t forget that when 1.0 of Premiere Pro was released the user base was almost all prosumer. That gradually changed but only made a quantum leap with 5.0 when that version brought the stability of 64 bits to handle large projects and the amazing Mercury Playback Engine.

There’s still improvements that need to be made, especially in media management and streamlining usability but Adobe does listen so don’t be shy about speaking your minds about what the product needs. It’s clear from recent public statements and actions that they intend to challenge even Avid in the high end. It may take them a year of three to get there but I wouldn’t bet against them. As Richard said, pixel pushing, and now sample manipulation, is their business. And each new major release has brought new creative solutions.

And one thing that never gets mentioned, that has continuously impressed me over the last few years, is that the programmers and designers love to work there and are devoted to the products they make. That has to count for a lot looking down the road.

I found it in the international store. You just choose the Full Edition and type in the word “switch”. You still get gouged on pricing though, as international software users have some to expect.
