What is the best ( cleanest ) software for compressing HD 1920x 1080P H.264 .mov files?
We are currently using Adobe Media Encoder to encode 28 minute shows to our broadcast payout server a Athensa Airbox which requires H.264 files to be compressed at 10mbps max
Our compressed files have some noticeable noise in them and we are looking for a cleaner compression software.
I guess its either that or find a playout server that can handle higher bit rates, which would be much much more expensive.
I am looking into different encoding software hoping one of these would make a difference.
What do you recommend between Adobe Media Encoder vs Sorenson Squeeze vs Telestream Episode?
    Any suggestions?

Handbrake is free and had very deep controls and uses the very good x264 encoder. To best optimize encoding requires a very good understanding of the controls vs types of content and specific technical and aesthetic issues you’re trying to improve.

Randy, have you tried checking the “Render at Maximum Quality” box? It can make a considerable difference in the quality of some encodes.
