Adobe Media Encoder Problems
Posted by Ola Alak on July 3, 2008 at 7:17 pmI have never had a problem with this in the past. I edit simple videos for work using Adobe Premier Pro. They are longer clips that I shorten down, usually to less than a minute. So when I’m done editing, I export using Adobe Media Encoder because it outputs a better quality of video than the normal export option does(This normal export will works but video is very low quality/grainy (suggestions for that?)).
For some reason, now, when I click on Media Encoder under File/Export nothing happens. I saying, NOTHING, its as though it isn’t even trying to open the encoder window. Any suggestions or solutions are greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

July 3, 2008 at 8:54 pmAfter launching the encoder, hit Enter. If you are presented with a Save window, the encoder is there albeit hidden, possibly stuck in the task bar or in a dual monitor system on the bottom of the other monitor.

July 7, 2008 at 2:04 pmActually after hitting Enter it gives me a rendering media box, but I can’t locate where these rendered files are going to and still can’t locate the media encoder options

July 7, 2008 at 6:03 pm1. In Premiere choose Window>Workspace>Restore default workspace.
2. Delete Premiere’s Preference file; hold the Shift and Ctrl keys down, launch Premiere till it fully loads.
3. Change the vertical position settings on your monitors using the buttons on the front so you can see the black area below the desktop looking for something minimized. -

July 11, 2008 at 3:33 pmWhenever I want to export something in Adobe Media Encoder I get an “I/O Open Error”… so basically I’m stuck. Anyone else have this? Anyone have a solution?

September 3, 2008 at 5:13 pmI installed Adobe premier CS3 suite with a dual monitor setup and ‘Export Adobe Encoder’ worked fine.
I later changed to a single monitor setup and the ‘export Adobe Encoder’ window did not appear.
Solution:
Shut down Premier — you may have to use ‘ctrl alt delete’ to force it to close.
Open ‘Windows Explorer’.
(MAKE SURE THAT HIDDEN FILES ARE VISIBLE in Windows Explorer) — MENU/TOOLS/View/(bullet) Show Hidden Files and Folders.
Go to c: DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS/MY NAME/APPLICATION DATA/ADOBE/PREMIER PRO/3.0
Do not delete the directory/folder called 3.0 — only delete the contents.
Delete everything in the directory/folder called 3.0
Premier/ Export Adobe Encoder, is now back on the planet.
Sorry if someone else has already posted this solution. I have not read all the posts.
Enjoy. This might save you the two days it took me to figure it out. -
