Adobe Media Encoder – Missing, Lost, (didn’t save) encoded file?
Now I know Premiere Media Encoder is not a terribly stable animal. It’s crashed on me more times than I can remember.
However it spent literally hours encoding my output from a Premiere (CS5) project last night and also reported it as successfully encoded (with the green tick).
But when I went looking for the file in the saved location, it wasn’t there. No sign of it whatsoever. Not even a partially made file.
I searched the entire computer, no trace of it ever existing, even partially, (or any other file like it) anywhere. It was if it had been deleted from the system completely (or never saved at all).
This is very frustrating, this encode took 7 hours to create, surely there must be a trace of what it output somewhere?
Some facts to note:
– I use Premiere CS5 to send to queue. Encoder CS5
– The hard drive I saved to has TBs of space left, not a space issue
– The location of where it saved to was still clearly stated in Media Encoder with the green tick of completion.
– Windows 7 Ultimate OS
– Was a Cineform codec .mov output from Premiere to QueueI checked on it several times throughout its encode (to check it hadn’t crashed yet again), and it was encoding just fine, just very slowly.
Surely there should be a trace of it somewhere? It doesn’t just delete the entire file, does it?
Any help appreciated.
