Can anyone tell me if AME can add in the correct pulldown for a 23.98 HD ProRes LT file conversion? I have a PR LT file at 24p (23.976) and need to encode to MPEG 2 HD with MPEG 2 audio, however they need 1080i60. So if I bring into AME and select MPEG 2 under format, and change the preset to 1080i29.97, will this add in the proper 3:2 pulldown to create the 29.97 frame or 60 interlaced fields per second file?

I’m a compressor guy and don’t know Adobe stuff all that well, but compressor can’t handle this so I need to use AME or AE.

Or should pulldown be adding in AE first then encoded to meet the specs?

This is to air on a HD LCD in doctors offices, not for broadcast.

To my knowledge AME does not do that- you will most likely need to handle the conversion in AE and then Encode.

I gave it a whirl anyway just to see and after stepping through the quicktime file, it looks like its been added correctly. 3 clean frames and 2 interlaced ones.
