    Hi,
I’ve been getting mixed results with the new media encoder in PP2.o. I thought I had it worked out, but apparantley I don’t. I pretty much field render everything coming out of AE. even scenes that don’t include video (the motion is much smoother). OK. In the past, I could use lower fields in the encode video settings, and get very smooth clean encodes. This seems to be hit or miss with the new encoder. I generally set it to lower field (same as my original render). Sometimes this looks really great, and sometimes I get interlacing artifacts. I’ve tried the deinterlace button at the top left (this doesn’t usually help), and progressive. It seems to really be ok sometimes and not at others. I know this is vague, but I thought maybe someone has experienced some similar results with the new media encoder, and can offer some solutions. I’m rendering in AE to decklink YUV at 720 x 486 lower field first, then bringing that into a decklink premiere project. I’m then encoding to MPEG2-DVD. Any help would be great.

    Mike
