Adobe Media Encoder – AE Challenge
We’ve been doing digital signage for 10 years now and are using CS4.
All has been well exporting .mov files at an aspect rtatio of 2400 x 600 to fit our 3 panel wide displays (800 x 600 (x3).
We have a client using CS6 who is building his own content.
Appears he is not allowed by the PAR to export at 2400 x 600.
The best it will do is 2000 x 600.
I’ve installed an eval copy to confirm this and it is true.
What happened?
CS4 allows a direct export to Quicktime even with a pixel aspect set to 1.33.
The new and improved will not allow this.
Anyone know of an “over ride” or custom setting that will allow a .mov (H.264) outout of 2400×600, 1.33 aspect ratio in Adobe Media Encoder? -

Is there a reason you absolutely can’t use the mp4 H264 format?

H.254 is the preference.
We tried exporting using th Media Encoder at 2400×600.
It bumps down to 2000×600 for the export.
At one time, a ballon came up saying that the 2400×600(1.33) was out of the PAR specifications and would not be allowed.Again, with CS4, this was never a problem, although it did not utilize the Media Encoder as a output module that I can see.
Looking to override the Media Encoder settings if possible.

The Quicktime version of H264 is getting pretty dated. The “proper” H264 mp4 has so much options for encoding.

That would be fine… whatever works.
Again, the problem is that teh Adobe Media Encoder will NOT ALLOW an export video file of the 2400 x 600 size.
It dummies down to a 2000 x 600 output format.
I’ll use whatever is available as long as 2400 x 600 can be output.
I’m not codec “centric”. It just needs to be a quality codec that doesn’t require umpteen gigabytes for a 1 minute video file.
Also…export from Adobe Media Encoder at 2400 x 600 (1.33)pixels aspect ratio. -
Choose H264 from the dropdown menu and choose a high enough profile and level. Then TYPE the values in to the resolution settings because AME might freak out if you drag it to an invalid value.
