I’m attempting to import an .avi file into a new Encore project. Encore seems to launch just fine (I was having QTCF.dll issues but they seem to be gone). I’m importing the file as an “Asset”. The “Preparing Transcode Settings” window appears and after 35%-40% progress the entire application begins to flicker for several seconds. The flickering stops and Windows displays a “Stopped Working” window. If I try to relaunch the project, Encore appears to load normally and then an “Access Denied” error message appears. If I try to build a new project the problems just repeat themselves.

    HELP

You may have a Matrox box? If so, try this:

“Adobe Encore may crash when you use the application for the first time after installing Matrox Mtx.utils. If this happens, turn off User Account Control
(UAC), then restart Adobe Encore. When you quit Adobe Encore, you can turn UAC back on. For details on how to turn UAC on or off, see your Windows documentation. (Ref# 54385)”
