adobe does PC apple pro res encoding natively now!
dear all!
can anyone confirm? do premiere and media encoder now encode prores natively on a Windows machine? if yes, then please blackmagic, make us some christmas present and do the same for the pc and linux versions of resolve!!!

Well, the Linux Advanced version of Resolve does do ProRes.ProRes licensing is up to Apple, not Blackmagic, so the ball is in their court. I think there are factors beyond money here.

are there? why would apple say put it in your 30k version, but not in the normal studio version on linux?
apple is granting at the same time scratch and adobe suite to do so… maybe they changed strategies. or
mabe it is about money.whatever, christmas wishes 🙂

Given Fusion Studio on PC has had ProRes encoding for a while now, I am surprised that this hasn’t been included in the Win version of Resolve Studio.
As others have said it is up to Apple as I’m sure Blackmagic who have ProRes encoding in their cameras would also wish to include it in all versions of Resolve.
