Intermittent pause on timeline.jpg For some unknown reason I get intermittent pauses running the timeline, the program can be restarted within say 20-30 seconds, and the resulting production is faultless..

Can anyone advise why this is happening. ? We have been running this program for 5 years and no previous problems. The computer is a Dell Precision T5500 fully specified to operate Adobe Premiere Pro using an approved Nvidia Video card etc FX3800 1GB Raid 0 XEON Server 4 Core 12 GB DDR3

I have had pauses on rare occasions like this, even repeated crashes. In my particular experience, it would consistently happen on a certain clip or area of a clip.

Rendering that clip to a different codec and replacing it would clear the problem up almost every time.

    Your mileage may vary.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2014 (as of 7/2015)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.

    Thanks Jon,

Not a real problem, more an annoyance, will check that out, oddly does not happen with Dell Precision M6600 ? With your set up I am comforted, been at this caper for 10 years, the last five have been exciting and trouble free. So different from the start with S-VHS and Premiere Pro 1.5.1 with Anamorphic, how things have changed

Indeed. I had a friend in recently, finishing a short project for him. Our work together goes back to the mid-80s. He was observing what was possible now, and thinking of what we could have done those many years ago.

I do not miss tape-to-tape editing and composite video!
