OK so I have noticed that in cs4 the double click to open up a layers composition or property is WAY to sensitive. If I’m trying to rotoscope a null object along some live footage every other time I move a frame down to move my null object with the footage (im tracking a pen in this case) it opens up the composition for the null object when i click on the null to move it. The double click is way to sensitive, I have to wait for a little bit and then precede to click each frame hoping not to disturb the double click Gods but even then it does not always work. I have also noticed when I’m working around the timeline moving my way through layers and such this will happen, i’ll click on a layer AND BOOM there it is and I have to x out of that window and precede to be harassed again over and over. Now maybe its just me but I dont remember CS3 or 7 doing this. Is there any way to make it not do this or turn it off.

I have already changed my mouse settings to have my double click speed on the lowest possible.

    Thanks

Have you tried adjusting the pen’s double-click sensitivity in the preferences?

Im using a Logitech USB mouse with MAC osX, im not sure what the driver is because I’m stupid. haha, I’m sure its just me then, maybe I work in AE differently than most people, i Just keep on running into this issue. Don’t worry about it i’ll find a solution.

    or end my life.

    Hi,

I’m using CS3 and I have exactly the same trouble. I assumed it was due to the fact that I am using a Wacom pen tablet. Adjusting the pen’s sensitivity doesn’t seem to change a thing and there doesn’t seem to be an adjustment in AE’s preferences.

Perhaps it’s just Adobe’s way of saying we are pushing ourselves too fast and the client doesn’t really need that animation today anyway.

I had the exact same problem, solved simply by going to Preferences (Sys. Prefs of OSX, not AE, mind you!) and increasing the Double Click Speed of a mouse.
