My credit card had expired while I was away on vacation. I received only a two-day warning that this was going to happen. But since I was away for a few days, I was unable to update my billing credit card. The email informed me that I would be downgraded to a free member and the following warning was in the email:

As a Free member, you will have limited access to applications and features. In addition, since Free membership offers only 2GB of storage, you may need to remove some files from Creative Cloud before they are automatically removed.

So beware, if you are using the cloud, you might want to have another backup source for those files. I’m not sure if the files would get removed forever or what. But doesn’t sound too secure to me.

Also note that Adobe no longer allows users to update payment settings on its website. Users need to call customer support to change credit card information.
