October 31, 2013 at 11:54 pmIt is not officially supported for this release. However we changed how we handle untested cards in Premiere Pro CC.
Here’s the details:
Also, some customers may be aware that in the past there was a not-so-secret way of enabling non-supported GPUs by the ‘hacking’ or removal of a text file. This is no longer necessary in Premiere Pro CC. As long as you have a reasonably modern card with at least 1GB of VRAM, you will still be able to enable that card in the Project Settings dialog. A warning message will appear letting you know that your card has not been certified by Adobe, but once that dialog is clicked through you can use your GPU. The team does try to certify as many GPUs as possible, but we can’t test everything, so this is a way to let you decide if you’re happy using an untested configuration.
Here’s our current list of supported GPU’s:

November 1, 2013 at 2:36 amI did the update and now SG crashes on launch or Direct Link. It used to work. Premiere Pro and After Effects are fine. Thoughts?

November 1, 2013 at 2:53 amIn my case it seems that SG wanted to be opened once on it’s own.
I updated CC and opened an existing project in PPro. Did direct link to Speed Grade and it locked on SG spash screen. Forced quit and opened SG. Dickered around a bit and closed it. Reopened PPro project and once again did Direct Link to SG and it worked. Did a few iterations of correction and Link back and it continued to work.
Mac Pro 4,1 2 x Quad 2.93 GHz, 24 Gigs RAM, 10.8.3
GPU is ATI Radeon 6870, 1 Gig VRAM, flashed for Mac boot. Mercury Playback on HW works. -

November 1, 2013 at 3:09 amIn my case, it was FxFactory. I turned off enabling AE plugs in Premiere in the FxF prefs and now it’s working.

November 1, 2013 at 1:52 pmI’m having the same issue. I cannot get Speed Grade to open at all. Even if I try to open it directly. I get a ‘SpeedGrade quit unexpectedly’ error. Exception type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS. I too have FX Factory, but I disabled it as Oliver did and it still crashes.

November 1, 2013 at 2:34 pmI found that I needed to enable loading plug ins in PPro. Launch SG and allow it to crash. Then return to FxFactory app and disable loading in PPro. It took about 5 minutes for SG to launch but after a toggle on-off it worked.

November 1, 2013 at 2:49 pmI think I solved my issue. I have a Kona3G card installed. With the 10.4.8 Adobe drivers installed, Speedgrade crashes. When I uninstall the Adobe drivers, Speedgrade starts up. I tried this a few times, so I’m pretty sure it’s the Aja Adobe drivers. I’m sure they’ll have a patch for it.
