Adobe Audition 2 with Decklink Extreme
Posted by Deleted User on May 1, 2006 at 3:55 pmHello,
I just installed Adobe Audition 2 I have Decklink Extreme PCI on Windows xp pro with sp2. I can’t seem to get any sound out of audition. I set the hardware to be Decklink Audio but I can’t get any sound out?
Does anyone know the correct settings I should enable to get sound from Adobe Audition 2 and Decklink spdif output?

May 5, 2006 at 3:41 amI know the latest drivers work fine for Multibridge Extreme, and audition, as I was using them today. If you installed Audition after BM drivers were installed, I would uninstall BM completely, and reinstall.

May 5, 2006 at 4:07 amHello,
I installed Adobe Audition last. SO I will remove then re-instal the decklink drivers and see how I wil go? I’ll let you know but sounds of it you are correct.
Thank you for the reply.

May 8, 2006 at 8:36 pmHello,
Thanks for that I uninstalled then re-installed Blackmagic decklink and now I can get sound. However after a few mins of playing or navigating sounds I then press play and just get a flick and it goes to the same point the start of a sound clip from within Adobe Audition 2.0 so not sure if I have something incompatible? As try to play a clip and the cursor stays in the same place.

Without knowing much about your system, its hard to say. One thing you could try would be to look at the icons on the right side of the windows taskbar at the bottom of your screen. You can usually double click them, and exit out of them. They are applications that are running in the background. It is possible that the system you have is fighting for internal horsepower if there are multiple applications running in the background. Closing them down may help audition take advantage of what you have, and be able to play the timeline. It sounds like you are close to working, so there is most likely a simple solution

May 10, 2006 at 6:18 amLaunch Audition.
Options > Device Properties > Wave out and select Decklink Audio Device.Recommended software versions are DirectX9.0, Quicktime7.0, Sp2 and Decklink 5.5.1
Email me you system configuration including motherboard make and model and a description of the workflow and I take a look at it.
