I am new to AE, when I import any footage into the project it is very small and when I zoom in or reset aspect ratios it is extremely pixelated and blurry. I want my footage to fit the size of the window like I see in all of the tutorials. The footage is in quicktime format, and is normal fitting size when I watch it in Quicktime, iMovie or Final Cut.

I am hoping/assuming this is an easy fix since I am a rookie w/the program…

You may be watching your preview window at half/third or even quarter resolution. Make sure in the Composition settings that the setting is full resolution.

I checked the composition settings, it is set in full resolution.

Did you also check in the player control window to see if the RAM preview settings are set to full resolution?
Also posting a screen grab of your desktop with AE open and a movie imported and opened in a comp may provide some insight to us.
