    Adobe After Effects: How can you bring in a lower third from CS2 and maintain transperancy in AAE?

    I have a lower third CG created in CS2. I’m trying to bring it into After Effects, keep the transperancy and then use a text effect only on the names and titles?

    How can I import into After Effects to maintain the transperancy and then export the transperancy as an .avi or something else?

    You need to render the material in a codec that supports transparency such as Animation or Photoshop Sequence, or Tiff Sequence. When you say you created it in CS2, what do you mean, Photoshop? A layered photoshop file can be imported into AE as a composition. All transparency will be retained.
