Please give us some more details.

what type of object are you using?
How many different colors in three seconds?

    thanks,
    Derrick

the object is a deformed sphere that rotates 360 degrees, i want it to change to 6 different colors,
    any ideas?

six colors in 3 seconds is not much, I would just keyframe them

if it’s PAL, keyframe the color value about every twelve frames, if it’s NTSC keyframe it every 14 frames.
