I really like this idea. Possibly taking it a step further and also implementing a feature much like on Apple’s Discussions forum where the original poster can mark their question Answered/Unanswered as well as give credit to responses they consider to be helpful, (though I guess we already have a rating system in place here).

This would allow the Filter to filter out answered and unanswered posts based on whether or not the original poster feels their question is answered, not just because the system detected that someone posted a response to their original post.
