I am working with Chris/Trish Myers book on creating motion graphics and I am stuck. I have an adjustment layer which I am told to apply a color affect to which will affect the color of the 3 layers below it but nothing happens. I have the circle checked off in the options, why does my comp not change color?

Which effect are you applying, and what are its properties?

The effect I am applying is BCC Tritone from Boris FX. It was a free plug-in that came with the book. It is used to change the colors of the comp. I do not think the problem has anything to do with the plug-in because I used other plug-ins on the adjustment layer and nothing happend either. I have the globe checked off on the adjustment layer but nothing happens.

In the timeline, make sure the eyeball and the little f (for effects) are on. Also, make sure the blending mode is set to “Normal” and that there is no Alpha Matte. If it still doesn’t work, let me know.

Depends which version of the plug-in and AE you’re using. Mine worked in AE v 5.5 but stopped working in 6.5. I needed to buy Boris FX in order to get it working again. You can email Boris but they used to give out free plug ins as a marketing thing to get people to buy the full product.
