  • Adjustment Layer Alternative in Premiere?

    Hi CC,

I’m embarking on a video short editing project that is going to use a number of layering, coloring, blurring/sharpening, blending, as well as some compositing (keying/tracking).

I’m still in the basic editing phase of the project and have been juggling back and forth between FCPro 7 and Premiere CS5. Because Premiere leans towards After Effects in it’s layout I’m prone to use it.

The biggest decision in my approach is blending mode comps. I like Premiere’s Effects panel’s approach to such methods. However, I can’t find anyway to add an B/C or Levels adjustment layer of sorts on top of multiple blending mode layers of video.

Am I just kidding myself into thinking Premiere can support this type of layering effects like After Effects, or is there something that can be used in it as an alternative?

    Thanks for any support!

You can do adjustment layers on video in later editions of Photoshop. Haven’t played with it much myself, but just recently watched a rich Harrington tutorial on using photoshop and then ae to create a film look.
