  • Adjusting only one channel in stereo audio track

I have a video clip with a stereo audio track. In the left channel is a voice of a first speaker, in the right channel is a voice of a second speaker. There is a moment in left channel with some short noise from swishing lav mic. I need to mute this sound. But I dont want to mute the right track at the same time (because the second speaker is speaking in this channel). How do I do it?
After these adjustments I also need to combine both channels into one.

I completely understand issue. It comes to all of us at one time or another. Now, I’d really need to hear and SEE the waveform to truly offer the most appropriate approach. Any chance of getting 10 seconds on a WAV file?

What is suggest is to copy the tracks and make one track LEFT and the copied track RIGHT. From there is then isolate the noise and work on blending back to stereo. That’s one way.

    Cheers

I agree with Grahamn’s approach. Split the stereo track into two mono tracks and work on them independently. No need to join them again because Vegas will do that with all of the audio tracks when you render.
