March 9, 2021 at 9:19 pmNot the least bit surprised given Apple’s dropping intel processors and that includes Xeon.
Of interest though is when will an Apple Silicon iMac appear with four rather than two thunderbolt ports and 10Gig Ethernet port. Some may hope it will happen this spring but if it’s closer to fall or later, there’s going to be professionals looking to move up, stuck in a holding pattern.
I think some are hoping that both base model AND higher-end model Silicon iMacs are coming soon.

March 13, 2021 at 10:37 pmI agree….the draw for me was the 10gig Ethernet….could have used two of them so we could aggregate! But have loved mine. The monitor is a little oversaturated for color work but no biggie. It’s been my workhorse machine for a while running the Adobe suite and am glad I made the investment. It helped me decide to keep the old Mac Pro going a bit longer, and wait until the new Mac Pro comes down in price and fixes a few issues.
My larger more long range concerns with Apple is the OS. They need to keep the desktop OS rock solid for the higher end workflows and expectations of hardware/expandability needs, rather than trying to marry iOS and Mac OS into one ecosystem. The AREN’T!
