My boss is asking for a skill assessment regarding our area. We just purchased 2 new systems running the Adobe Premium Suite CS5. Both of us in our area have worked with Premier Pro and AE for years and I even teach a course on AE. I have always felt that I am really missing alot by not having any formal training regarding many things about the software that I may be missing. I actually purchased AE total training about 6 years ago and that is when I started to really get it..they were great. We are not beginners but there are many nuances about the software we are not utilizing that might really help us. In addition, we are now running windows 7. The question is what is the best way to go here. I would really like to go someplace and work with someone but I am afraid the budgets most likely will not allow that. I am thinking about total training CS5 or any other kind of training that might be helpful to us. We are only involved in Video Production , DVD authoring and BLU RAY, of course encoding and streaming most no live streaming. If anyone has any suggestions as to where to go from here please let me know. If there is a good value regarding going somewhere..I will at least make that recommedation. The kind of work we do is Public Relations for a University, commericals, promotional projects, documentaries and sports coverage. We shoot on p2 and do a great deal of compositing.

The best training you can get is through tutorials. Follow the Cow tutorials, and look at videocopilot, etc. for more free tutorials. You can also purchase from Lynda.com/Total training.

Any other type of one on one training past the basics will likely be money out of the window.

Of course, I am talking about technical skills, not creative/artistic/edit, for which you would benefit from academic courses.
