  • Addition to Smpte Bars white Flag

I’m wanting to add something to the center of the White Flag within Smpte bars.
The level of the white flag in bars is 235, which equates to 100 IRE on an external waveform monitor,
Or within the software waveform monitor.
There is in the black area of video, 3x pludges that show blacker than black (16) levels,
But there is no equivalent whiter than white portions and this is what I’d like to add to the bars signal.

So this is what I’d like to do. Assuming that a flat line is 235, I’d want to put a ramp upward to 255, then back down to 235 again placed in the center of the 235 white flag.

On the waveform monitor it would look like this:

_______/\_________ where ___ is 235, and the top of the /\ is 255.

At present I Can’t I seem to do this in photoshop as photoshop appears to be limited to 235 max level. Cc
I’ve been able to make a block of 255 white in Primere, and place it in center of
The white flag, but I’d rather do the ramp up/ramp back down approach, as any clipping would then flatten that ramp and stick out.
Can anyone suggest a way of accomplishing this??
    Thanks.
