Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question…. But how do you STOP FCPX adding a transition (let’s say a simple crossfade) to the start of a clip when dragging it and dropping it ONLY to the end of a clip??

    What version is it?

    Hi Ben:

I watched your vid. In fact, you are dragging the effect onto the ‘entire clip’ and and so the effect/transiton is applied to both ends simultaneously, this is how FCPX functions. To get the desired result you’re looking for, select either the head or tail of your clip and then double-click your effect/transition, in this case the dissolve, and it will append the ‘dissolve’ only to that particular end of the clip. At least that’s how I do it.

    Cheers,

    Evan
