    Hi There,
Was wondering if someone can enlighten me on the following. I am not sure if it can be done, but nevertheless, i though i would ask anyway. I am using FCP5 and have some dv footage of my son in a running race. What I’d like to do is have is name above his head and the text to follow him. Can this be done?

Sure. Just create the text with your text tool or Title 3D, then use the motion tab of that clip once place in the timeline window to change it’s center position if need be over time. Keyframing the center parameter will move the text anywhere you want, when you want.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

If you’d like to do it the way they do in a NasCar race, you’ll need motion tracking. Look for the plug in by Lyric.

    Jerry–
Is this the same Jerry that lived in Denver as an Avid Whiz a few years back?
