adding shadow to green screen footage issue??

Okay figured out the problem.. Still need advice though! I started from scratch and my layer stack is as follows.

Light1
Camera1
Video- keyed image
adjustment layer – fast blur added – and keyframed to blur more as she moved closer to camera
Solid – 3d text through continuum
Background image.

So when i deleted the adjustment layer. the shadow then showed up
on both views.

So why didn’t it work and how do i then do blur out the background
and add the shadow to it??

Yep, yhat will do it- an Adjustment layer is a 2d layer. If it is sandwiched in between 3d layers is messes up the way 3d space works in AE- basically you have 2 3d setups, one in front of the other, that will not interact. Dave’s suggestion to use the blur directly on the layer and eliminate the Adjustment layer is the way to go.
