Hi… I’m having difficulty applying sapphire effects to a green screen keyed out subject, without having the entire image affected. I’m running Sapphire v2.0 on a Avid Nitris.

I have a background layer on V1, and have a keyed out subject (using the Spectramatte Keyer) on V2. I want to apply the scan lines effect to my subject, but when I alt drop the effect onto the V2 keyed layer, it affects my entire image. I have gone into the effect, and clicked “apply to title/key” but it gives me similar results.

Any solutions you can think of offhand?

    Thanks in advance,

    Allan

    Hi Alan,

To do this set up the following:

    V3 keyed out subject
    V2 keyed out subject
    V1 background

put your Chroma key on V3 and select the “show alpha” checkbox.
apply ScanLines to v3 by alt+dropping it and then select “apply to title/key” checkbox in the effect editor. This will merge your matte (v3) and fill (v2) and comp it over your background layer on V1.

    Best,

    Todd
