I do my editing on a Mac Pro but use Resolve on a Windows machine (my Mac won’t run the latest version so I still have 8.2 on the Mac). I set up an Ubuntu Linux server to serve both Mac and Windows. For the most part it works fine; I can get the hard drives to show up on both systems and can use them.

When I try to add the Linux units in the Media Directory window of Resolve, it doesn’t show anything except the drives of the Windows machine it’s on. The old version of Resolve on the Mac has no trouble seeing the Linux hard drives, which are formatted Ext4.

What do I need to do to get Resolve on the Windows 8 to see hard drives on the network?

I worked it out by restarting all machines several times. It now seems to work (sort of). My next problem: I generally use the Windows 8 machine on a side monitor, but for Resolve, I switch on both the side monitor and the main Apple Cinema Display. However, I can’t get Resolve to move over to the larger display. What do I need to do?
