How do I add a 720×480 video to a 587×480 sequence timeline without FCP automatically resizing the video to fit the 587×480? I just want to dump it in at its original size and then I’ll resize it where needed.

Edit: I went into User Preferences and unchecked “Always scale clips to sequence size”, but that didn’t seem to do anything.

When it does resize, simply right click and choose “remove attributes” then choose basic motion.

The preference you have selected should do it, though.
