  • Adding new HD files to old DVD for new Blu-ray

I was given an old DVD of the grandchildren which in MPEG2. I have been asked to update this disk with a lot of newer material which was shot in HD. I know that if I make a new Blu-ray & I can use the old MPEG2 files without the need for re compression & then add the newer material onto a separate menu.

My copied the old disk to the HDD,opened the Video TS folder & changed the extension of all of the old vob files to MPEG2. I was then able to import the MPEG2 files into DVDA OK & all files play.

What didn’t get imported was the Chapter markers. I could even get the first page of the old motion menus to Play, but nothing else. I don’t know if any other menu pages are available & if I can import & use them.

Is there any way to get more data from the old disk that I can use in this new project?

    Thanks in advance
