How do I add a new font to Illustrator and Photoshop?
Thanx in advance.

November 12, 2008 at 8:19 pmOn a mac, it’s whatever you computer has installed. You don’t add them directly to the programs. I assume a PC is just the same.

November 17, 2008 at 9:59 pmYou just copy your new fonts into the Macintosh/Library/Fonts folder.
They will then appear in PS & any other text program. I found out by observation you can use tru type fonts on the Mac.In Windows go to control panel/fonts and use the install feature.

April 16, 2009 at 12:15 amI’ve added fonts to my system, and restarted illustrator, but can see fonts in panel of illustrator. Should I uninstall/reinstall fonts again?

October 1, 2009 at 2:58 amIf your using a Mac, go to dafont.com and download your font file. Then go to, Finder/Application/Fontbook, then open Fontbook, drag and drop your downloaded file into the Fontbook “collection” panel – it should load your font with no problem. Then restart your Illustrator or Photoshop.
Please send me an email to let me know if this works for you-it worked for me.
