    Hello,

I am using a new Mac Pro 5 tower with two screens and would like to be able to have my canvas through my Panasonic projector as well as another monitor to see the qualioty of the footage. What do I have to do? I have an installed blackmagic deckling and think i should be able to at least hook this one through BNC cables to the projector, but will it work automatically as a third screen? and what if I want to ad yet another TV monitor? Do I need a second graphic card for all this? What is the most logical way to set this up?

Thank you soo much for your advices

If the monitor you have has a “looping” output… there will be video “INPUT” jack(s) and video “OUTPUT” jack(s)… then just hook that output to the projector.

If not, you need a DA (distribution amplifier) with one video input and multiple video outputs in the type (component, composite, or S-video) that you want to use.

I’m assuming you mean you want to project your NTSC footage from the Canvas, NOT the actual FCP Canvas from the interface. If you mean trying to make the Canvas in the FCP interface larger, you will not get a sharp image and have no idea what the actual quality of your footage is. FCP degrades the image in the Viewer / Canvas because you are expected to view your footage externally, such as through the Decklink card.

You want to hook the Decklink to your projector / monitor and then set up FCP to display actual video through the card, not the FCP interface.

Assuming that you DeckLink card is one of the models with analog in/out and is HD capable, hook the Component (RGB) OUT from the card to the Component IN on the projector. Then just set the projector to the component input.
