Adding Markers to the Project “Timeline”
Does anyone have a sense why you can’t add markers to the timeline like FCP 7. Markers can only be added to the clip. If you move the clip you move the markers. Is there a cheat so you can add Markers to the TimeCode along the top of the project “Timeline” like you could in FCP 7?

It’s by design- since clips are anchored to each other in movable clusters rather than only as points on the timeline.
That said, you can always put in a program length piece of gap or generator with its opacity set to zero and place markers onto that if you require strict editing to time.
