Super easy question I suppose… I am going thru the FCP Training Series and sure am going to hit this eventually, but for the time being I need help real quick with something. We shot a short little scene with only one light source coming thru a window. It is suppose to be dark, but we got it a bit too dark. Is there a way to lighten up the scene in FCP without looking just terrible… if you are curious to see what I am talking about you can see it at http://www.vimeo.com/938044 and I promise I only post that link for genuine help and not some stupid way to get people to see the video… it was a class assignment that I wouldn’t mind adding some light to is all…

This is for an earlier version of FCP, but still relevant as an intro:

Use the Color Corrector 3-way and push up the mids a little. Not too much or it’s get muddy.

    All the best,

As well as the three way CC, try Lyric’s free Shadow Highlight filter. It is very good at bringing up shadow detail and holding down blown highlights.
