How do you add grain in Avid Xpress, to make it look as if it was 16mm pushed negative?

I have some images that I shot from just one place, which I wish to blow-up using effects and also add the grain, in order to hide the blow up a bit.

Any suggestions on how to do that?

There is an effect in Illusion FX which comes with express pro called film grain. it looks fantastic on its minimal settings.

if u really wanna get the film look going colour correct with the colour wheels in the mid tones moving around to a bluish or yellowish look. i also do a fluid film effect to give it that progressive look first and then it all looks sensational. the fluid film effect doesn’t work with other effects so do that first then do a mixdown of the clip and you can do whatever you want.

or you could look at getting magic bullet it does heaps of stuff i love the post contrast quality.

Yes it does. I do it all the time. Just hold down the alt key and drag the effect you want to the clip.

Thanks to both of you. I will try fluid and see what it gets me.

I don’think I can use Avid color correct, because I am already using 3Prong color correction, which seems to me more versatile and powerful than Avid’s.
