  • Adding Filter over entire sequence?

Posted by Wendell Davis on September 27, 2005 at 3:22 pm

is there a way to put a filter over an entire filter? IE broadcast safe filter to ensure everything is close to broadcast safe. Doing a piece where it was shot on MiniDv and the whites are all a little hot across the board.

    Thanks

    Two ways.

nest the entire sequence and then apply the Broadcast Safe filter to the nest. This is good if you don’t have to make any further edits in the piece.

The second way, which I prefer, is to Select All the clips in your timeline and apply the Broadcast Safe Filter. This will apply it to all of them. I prefer this because it keeps my main timeline intact instead of dropping to a nest.

Walter – as usual – YOU ARE THE MAN. Nice to have met you in Boston last year.

    Walter

How do you apply the filter to ALL your selected clips at once?

    Hi,

Please excuse this comment, as it comes purely from an Avid background, but is there no way then to make an ‘umbrella clip’ on an empty track on the timeline with which it effects everything in one fell swoop? I guess there’s no need if you can apply to each individual clip, but it means you don’t accidentally ‘forget’ to apply to effect to a new clip in the sequence.

    Oh well.

    John.
