Adding expressions to Mask Shape property’s keyframes (AE7)
using
loopOut(type=”cycle”,numKeyframes=0)
I easily looped the keyframes of a test layer’s opacity.Unfortunately, I want to loop the keyframes of a layer’s Mask Shape. But when I select the property and attempt to use “Add Expression”, it’s greyed out (not available).
This is aggravating, ‘cuz I don’t want to do anything fancy with the shape per se, I just want it to loop.
Is there any way around this in AE7?

The Mask SHape property doesn’t allow for Expressions. Your workaround is the precomp the layer, apply Time Remapping, apply the required KFs to the Time Remapping property and then apply your loop Expression. You will want to create temporary Comp Markers prior to precomposing so that you know where to place the Time Remapping KFs.

That’s true for the version that Eric has, but not true in the current version of After Effects.

YUP! I think this feature was added in AE9.
