  Adding Effects to your alpha

  hi all

  how do you add your effects (glow, drop shadow, etc) to your alpha channel?

  for example, if i have some type and add a drop shadow to it….when i option click to select and create an alpha channel, photoshop will NOT add the drop shadow UNLESS i flatten the layer…thereby making it impossible to alter it if there are changes…

  anyone konw if this is possible?
