I am trying to add a 5 frame dissolve to about 50 audio edits all at once. In Avid, I could just check the “add dissolves in to out” check-box in the dissolve pallet. Is there a similar way to do this in FCP? Dragging dissolves from the effects pallet or right clicking to add dissolve and modifying each one is a real chore.

In the Effects window, flip down Audio Transitions. Modify the level transition you want (0 or 3dB) to the length you want and make sure it’s set to default audio transition (right click). If you’re in FCP7, you can select all of your audio clips and use the keyboard shortcut apple/option/T. The transition will pop on all of your audio.
