  • Adding Clip Information Overlay in Premiere Pro CC

Please excuse me if this has been answered somewhere else but I have searched and cannot find any answers online.

What I’m trying to do is find out a way to add an overlay displaying clip information when I am exporting from Premiere Pro CC. Is there a way to export my timeline but have the clip file name and timecode overlayed on the picture.

In a real world situation I often get requests to send a client sample edits or b roll. It would be nice to have the clip info (file name and timecode) overlayed onto the video so they can reference the info when telling me what shots they like or don’t like. For example, if the clip info was overlayed my clients could give me feedback like “I liked clip 7I5A7039.MOV from 00;19:12-00;24:02” instead of having to say something like “Can you use the one shot of the car doing this….”

Hope that makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated

There are overlay options when you export (render). Not sure if that will do exactly what you need.

    Hi Mark,

Do you know if there is a way to do this with Audio File names and timecodes? As it’s a ‘video’ effect Premiere is only allowing me to choose Video tracks as the source for clip name and timecode.
