Ok so shot a short and we used a seperate computer with protools and an MBox to record audio. I want to marry the new audio with the cameras audio in FCP. So we had a clapper and that helps to line them up in the timeline and I tried linking (o-apple L) them and that works but is there a way to perminatly attach so that if I take a clip off the timeline, the two new tracks (boom mic, room mic) stay with the clip lined up? I want them to stick perminate so that I can just go through and attach the new audio and then go back and start editing scenes.
    get what I’m asking?
    thanks!

[Sam Knaak] “I tried linking (o-apple L) them”

Linking the clips works for me. I can link the audio and video in the timeline and then drag them to the browser to create a new clip with audio and video combined.

Am I misunderstanding what you try to achieve…?

(Or use ‘Merge Clips’. But you do that in the browser not in the timeline: Mark an in point on the video clip and corresponding in points on your audio clips. Select all clips that belong together and choose ‘Merge Clips…’ in the Modify menu.)
