  • Adding additional Paths to vector mask??

Posted by Eric Chard on March 14, 2008 at 9:07 pm

This is one of those (probably) easy things that I do rarely and always forget the particular steps:

How does one ADD to a VECTOR MASK a NON-contiguous path? There are existing paths (leaf colors behind a tree mask) that I want to add new paths to WITHOUT adding more Shape Layers.

I just can’t seem to find the combination of tools and control keys (Windows) to make this happen. (My work-around will be using a non-vector layer mask temporarily.)

    THANKS!

Go to the paths palette. With the shape layer active, select the Vector Mask path, then add what you need with the pen tool. Make sure to select the correct option in the Options bar for the new path for whether it add, subtracts or intresects any existing paths,
