i haven’t delved into V3 much yet, but was looking for that proverbial light-panning-across-clients’-logo-making-them-very-excited effect and figure V3 can do it. i’ve put a light in the scene, and thought i was pointing at the logo, but see no effect of it. though i do get an area to be brighter, can’t seem to narrow down the spot and make it pan across, causing that terribly exciting effect of glints and reflections bouncing back off the logo towards the viewer.

any good V3 tutorials out there yet? (either for free or purchase)

In HUD, adjust Cone Angle and Soft Edge parameters.

To get spot light to move use a Throw Behavior.

Switch between Active Camera and Perspective views to see what you’re doing.

The MOTION 3: DESIGNING AND ANIMATING MOTION GRAPHICS IN FINAL CUT STUDIO 2 (book) is just out.
